Sleep, or the Lack Thereof

You'd think that taking two Vicodins an hour before going to bed would be more than enough to ensure a peaceful night's sleep. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case for me last night. Because of the cumbersome wrap around the lower half of my left leg, I found myself waking up at least once an hour, although I think I did manage one two-hour stretch of continuous sleep. My biggest problem was partially losing circulation in my toes, which necessitated finding a new awkward position to sleep in.

The last time I tore my calf muscle, after a week the doctor gave me a removable splint so that I could sleep and shower in relative comfort. It slowed the healing process down slightly, but it made everything easier to deal with. I'm praying that I'll be given the same option when I see the doctor on Monday afternoon.
