He Said it Better Than I Could

I was going to write about this, but Bob Harris said it far better than I could ever word it:

What do you call an event in which participants are screened, surrounded by police, and marched on a fenced-in route, all off-limits to the media?

The Pentagon's upcoming "Freedom Walk", of course.

That distant bang! you just heard was Irony, thumping its head against a wall in pure envy.

I think Tom Tomorrow said something to the effect of that you can't satirize this administration because they will outdo whatever you come up with.

A Few Random Thoughts

Does the Spanish version of Dora, the Explorer have characters who insist on using English? If not, why?

What is happening to any of the other Talking Mooses in the various alternate universes? While I am sure that certain aspects of some of their lives are going better, I still wouldn't trade my life for any of theirs.

Someone please remind me: what is the plural of "moose"? I'm too lazy to look it up myself.

BNL is edging dangerously close to becoming overdue with a new album.

I think the fact that Tyra Banks has a new talk show debuting this Monday says an awful lot about the world we're now living in.

Is it too much to ask of Upper Deck or Topps to put out just one autograph card for each of the following Phillies: Juan Samuel, Johnny Callison, Rick Wise, John Denny, Steve Bedrosian, Tommy Greene, Terry Mulholland. To put some perspective on my request, former Met Jerry Groat now has an autograph card, and I don't recall him doing anything half as noteworthy as any of those former Phils.

A Couple Other Quick Items

  • I keep telling myself this, but I really, really need to do a better job of proofreading posts and comments before I submit them. Especially the comments as they cannot be edited once they go up.
  • I'd like to thank those who voted on the SF design poll. The original design won by a margin of 2-1. However, it needs mentioning that only three people voted, so I assume that means there's a really huge margin of error involved.
