The Thrills of Online Publishing

Over the weekend, I found a few errors/typos in Issue No. 6 that made it past our initial proof-reading efforts. However, thanks to the joys of relying on online publishing for distribution, making the edits and reposting the issue this morning were relatively easy -- and since I haven't run off any print copies yet, this didn't cost a dime. It's a shame that the 50+ people who already downloaded the issue can see what those mistakes were, but it's nice to have the ability to easily and cheaply fix such things.

Odds and Ends

As usual, in no particular order...

I'm starting to truly to believe that this will be a step-back year for the Eagles. Unless Andy Reid very quickly comes up with some solutions to their woes, it's hard to believe that they'll manage to make the second round of the playoffs (let alone the first).

The Mrs. and I decided yesterday that we both needed to get back on some sort of exercise and diet regimen and to give each other the support needed when either of us starts faltering. At this point, we're both more or less back to where we were fitness-wise about four years ago. I have all sorts of issues about regaining the weight (again), which I'll probably address in a post at some point in the near future.

With #6 in the bag, it would normally be time for me to just do some pleasure reading. However, I promised a book review to NYRSF a while back, and I suspect by the time I get it done I will need to get serious about the work I will need to do for Issue #7.

As of today I finished the "trial" period at the new job and have officially become a full-time employee.

For Halloween tonight, Tank will be dressed as a duck. I hope to get pictures online in a reasonable amount of time, but there's already a backlog from the past few weeks that needs addressing.

I'm hoping to write some more substantive posts in the near future, and at least temporarily dispense with these laundry lists and posts about the 'zine.
