Mounting Evidence that Republicans Stole Ohio in 2004

Since the end of last year, I've erred on the side of caution in my opinion on whether or not Republicans rigged the vote in Ohio in the 2004 Presidential race. There was certainly plenty of anecdotal evidence that something was fishy, but nothing concrete.

Well, there's still no smoking gun, but a report from the non-partisan General Accounting Office that's gotten no coverage whatsoever from the mainstream media gives plenty of credence to the notion that Ohio Republicans stole the election. Factor in the involvement of Tom Noe -- the Republican operative who has since been indicted on charges of illegally channeling $45,000 to the Bush campaign -- and the fact that Ohio Secretary of State -- who was in charge of coordinating polling locations and ensuring they ran smoothly -- was also the head of the Bush campaign in Ohio, then things really start smelling fouler than the Cuyahoga River before it caught fire in 1969.

First it was Florida in 2000; then it was Ohio in 2004. It's becoming more and more obvious that many in the Republican party do not actually believe in democracy.

Phillies Rumor Mill

Let the Thome (and Abreu?) off-season trade rumors begin!

Note: I do not plan to discuss rumors, just actual trades, but I reserve the right to change my mind at a moment's notice.
