June, 2008 Issue of Some Fantastic Now Online

I just posted the new issue of Some Fantastic to the website. It contains the following:

The Revolution Will Not Be Podcast: Doctorow, Heinlein and the Pragmatics of Rebellion (by justjayj)
Commentary: Regular Fantasy, Urban Fantasy, and Real Magic (by tournevis)
Just Imagine: A Look at the Lost Sci-Fi Classic
(by shsilver)
This Date in Alternate History: August 19, 1994

Book Reviews:
The Boys, Volume 2: Get Some, written by Garth Ennis & illustrated by Darick Robertson & Peter Snejbjerg (reviewed by merhawk)
The New Space Opera, edited by Gardner Dozois & Johnathan Strahan (reviewed by madwriter)
The New Weird, edited by Ann VanderMeer and Jeff VanderMeer

DVD Reviews:
Planet Terror, Extended and Unrated Two-Disc Special Edition
Stargate: The Ark of Truth (tournevis, again)

The issue also contains a graph by Rebecca Pinskier showing the likelihood an Imperial Stormtrooper would hit a given target.

I'm a little disappointed that the issue is online eight days late, but given the move and everything else that happened in June I guess I shouldn't be too hard on myself -- especially since this issue marks the third one of 2008, which means I've already surpassed the total of two I posted online in 2007. Luckily, I believe that Justjayj and I have cobbled together a rhythm when it comes to sending out review copies of books and expecting the reviews to come back on them, so we should be able to begin work on the August issue on schedule.

Now, back to updating the website and sending out the various email notifications that need to go out. :-)
