Hall of Songs, Outer Circle: #41, "Superman" by Lazlo Bane

Previous installments: Part 1, Part 2, Part 3, Part 4, Part 5, Part 6, Part 7

This project went over the cliff back in June, but I'm resurrecting it and intent on finishing it. Rather than continuing to break off the list in chunks, I'm going to post one song at a time in an effort to make the posts more manageable. I hope to post as close to a song per day as possible, but given my lack of writing lately, I don't know how reasonable that goal is.

Anyway, I feel it's important to note that although I've numbered this song #41, there is no actual numerical ranking in my Hall of Songs -- it's just the 41st song I've covered. Since it's been a while, here's a link to my original post describing this project and how my Hall of Songs works.

"Superman," Lazlo Bane

Best known as the theme to Scrubs. Though the producers did an awesome job of focusing upon the heart of the song, the 30-second snippet used for the title sequence doesn't do the song proper justice. No one can do this on their own, and we all need someone to help us through. Though the subject matter is different, I can't help but feel that this song is thematically/spiritually similar to that of Fountain of Wayne's "Action Hero," with the change in subject resulting from just being in different places in one's life.
