Familiar Football Territory

So, halftime is about to end on the Eagles-Vikings game, and it's reminding me of far too many Eagles-Giants games played over the past decade or so. The Eagles are winning a game that be all rights they should be losing. It's the type of game where you sit there waiting for the Giants Vikings to finally put it together and just stomp the Eagles viciously into the ground. There's no enjoying the fact you're ahead until the game is over -- that is, if the Eagles actually win the game.

Anyway, with a 16-14 lead at the half, I'm not all that optimistic about the Eagles chances based on the performance I've seen thus far.

Oh Boo Hoo...the Eagles won!

You only won the frigging World Series a few months back!

Bitter... angry... you... these words do not go together at all.

Besides, you were on television recently -- shouldn't that be some sort of balm to your sports soul? :-)

Waiting for the Vikings to put it all together can be like waiting for Godot.

I know you're right -- the final score proved it. However, when you start seeing old patterns emerge, you also start looking for similar results.

Luckily, the Vikings really did fall apart in that second half.

Yes, I am. Thank you. :-)

Seriously, though, I really don't have any expectations for the Eagles, and given the Phillies World Series victory a couple months ago, I'm not really emotional vested either.
