My Mind Works in Baffling Ways

Thanks to madwriter's "Temporal Side Effects" post, I was reminded of one of the more puzzling connections created and cemented by my teenage mind. Back when I first read Asimov's Foundation Trilogy, DeBarge's "Rhythm of the Night" was getting massive pop radio airplay. Now, both items are inextricably intertwined whenever I think of either of them.

In response to his post, I originally stated, "No one should ever be encumbered with any sort of memory that links those two items." What I should have wrote was, "No one should ever be encumbered with any sort of memory that links anything --especially classic works of SF -- to that song."
