Yesterday, I mentioned watching part of "Half-Ton Man" on Discovery Health. In the show, one of the people interviewed about his struggles with his weight said something that's still sticking in my head, and I just thought I'd share. I'm paraphrasing, but he said that food addiction just might be the hardest addiction in the world to break. Imagine if alcoholics had to drink just a little each day to stay alive; imagine if cocaine or heroine addicts had to do a little cocaine or heroine each day because the body literally needs it to survive. You need food to live and survive, and there's no way you can completely stop eating it.
I initially typed "stop eating cold turkey," but rephrased once I realized the grammatical nightmare that introduced. :-)
